I host a Death Cafe in Kingston, south-west London, which is fun, fascinating and truly life-affirming.

The Death Cafe movement developed to help people talk openly about what is often a taboo subject. Far from being gloomy, coming to a Death Cafe is usually a refreshing experience, full of (yes) life, with room for tears, laughter and everything else. The chat is never directed so you're welcome to bring up any topic related to death and dying, or life and living - or just to listen, if that feels right. Visit the Death Cafe website for a cafe in your area. And if there isn't one, why not think about hosting your own?

The next Kingston Death Cafe: Saturday 21 April, 3.30 - 5.00, The Willow,

16 The Triangle,

Kingston upon Thames, KT1 3RT
